Custom Tools for Grant Horvat, Bryan Bros & Golf’s YouTube Elite
When Josh Morgan reached out back in August, he had one mission in mind:
“We want something bold for Grant and the Bryan Bros — gear that makes a statement on camera.”
He was talking about Major Cut, the YouTube series where Grant Horvat and the Bryan Brothers replay major championships at iconic venues to see if they’d make the cut.
For Episode 6, they headed to Chambers Bay — the site of the 2015 U.S. Open — and Kraken Golf was tapped to build the gear.
🔧 The Custom Tools That Made the Cut
After a few phone calls with Josh leading up to the shoot, we decided on a full custom kit. Each piece had to reflect the series, the setting, and the players’ personalities — here’s what we created:
✂️ Brass “Scissor” Divot Tools
Built from solid brass and milled to resemble a pair of scissors, these divot tools were anything but ordinary. The handles feature a faux Damascus pattern etched for texture and edge.
Functional, disruptive, and camera-ready.
🟤 Hammered Copper Ball Markers with Leather Inlays
Each golfer received a hammered copper ball marker with a leather inlay stamped with the Major Cut series logo. We personalized every piece with player initials — making them as personal as they were collectible.
The hammered edges added nuance, texture, and old-world character that stands out on any green.
🧳 Fred Leather Tool Holders Featuring “Scully”
To protect the tools in the bag, we built Fred-style leather holsters out of premium veg-tan leather, hand-dyed in black and red. Each one featured our newest mascot — Scully — hand-painted onto the surface.
It’s a storage piece. It’s a flex. It’s pure Kraken.
